The Escuyer Camouflage Wallet collection is what happens when traditional craft meets an unexpected design sensibility. Handcrafted in Portugal from a vegetable-tanned Italian leather, different from the leather used in the rest of our range, each piece is hand-dyed in layers at a Tuscan tannery that makes its camouflage patterns in-house. It carries the hallmarks of serious leatherwork: supple texture, a natural patina that deepens over time, and construction built to last decades. What makes it distinct is the pattern: a refined camouflage motif that adds a modern, understated edge to a classic silhouette.
The Escuyer Camouflage Wallet: Craft Meets Character
The camouflage pattern sits within the Escuyer craft tradition rather than disrupting it. Subtle enough to work with everything, distinctive enough to make a statement. The pattern is not printed: each colour is applied to the leather by hand, in layers, so no two pieces come out exactly the same.
The Collection: Three Ways to Carry
- Camouflage Cardholder in Light Green: the slimmest of the three. Sits flat in any pocket and develops a beautiful patina with daily use.
- Camouflage Slim Wallet in Orange: a step up in capacity, bold and confident.
- Camouflage Zip Wallet in Crocodile Yellow: the most complete carry option. Zip closure, crocodile-embossed leather, vivid yellow colourway.
Why Vegetable-Tanned Leather from Tuscany
Vegetable tanning is one of the oldest leather-making processes in the world. Where chrome-tanned leather remains static, vegetable-tanned leather is alive: it absorbs oils from the skin, deepens in colour, softens at stress points, and develops a surface patina entirely unique to each owner.

Questions we are asked
How is camouflage leather made?
On good camouflage leather, the pattern is hand-dyed onto the hide in layers rather than printed, so each colour sits in the leather instead of on top of it. Because every layer is applied by hand, no two pieces come out exactly the same.
What is crocodile-embossed leather?
Crocodile-embossed leather is leather, usually cowhide, pressed with a heated plate that stamps a crocodile scale texture into the surface. It is not exotic skin, so it costs far less than real crocodile and is cared for like any other smooth leather.
Does vegetable-tanned leather develop a patina?
Yes. Vegetable-tanned leather absorbs oils from your hands, softens at the points you touch most and darkens with use, so a wallet slowly takes on a colour and sheen unique to its owner. Chrome-tanned leather changes far less over time.
Is Escuyer camouflage leather the same as the rest of the range?
No. The camouflage models use a different leather from the rest of Escuyer's leather goods: an Italian vegetable-tanned leather, hand-dyed in layers at a Tuscan tannery that makes its camouflage patterns in-house. Like every Escuyer wallet, they are made in Portugal and come in a gift box.
How much does an Escuyer camouflage wallet cost?
The camouflage Cardholder costs €85, and the camouflage Slim Wallet and Zip Wallet cost €125 each. There is also a camouflage Card Sleeve at €55, the thinnest wallet in the Escuyer range.
